London’s still

…a blog about an ordinary Australian living in London

Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work I go November 9, 2006

Things are paying off.  I scored a job in a pub which I’ll be doing until I move out of London, in about January.  This week also heralds the return of the teaching work.  I worked Monday, Tuesday, today (Wed), tomorrow (in the pub) and Friday I’ll probably have work too (teaching again).  I’m pulling a long shift in the pub on Saturday (9 hours, cripes!), then I’m taking a breather.  Maybe I’ll grant myself two days rest before I toss myself back into the working world for another week.

Hopefully this way I’ll be able to save save save my buns off before heading out elsewhere. And I’ll be able to afford bread and milk again – just kidding.

Why are half the ads on the telly here the same as back home, only with pommy voices instead?  And where’s the Aussie section in the supermarket? Gawd!

Happy birthday to my Dad today, and to Marcus in a few days!

And what would be kept in the Aussie part of a supermarket?? Vegemite? National Pies? Pav? Lamingtons?….I can’t think of any other food that is true blue, bogan certified Aussie. Which foods are you missing??

😀 Happy Birthday Mr Wynwood you stud! 😀

  5. Bread Says:

I’ll buy you bread and milk!

You got it Dani, just the vegemite, and come to think of it I wouldn’t mind a decent pie, you’d think the poms would be able to do that at least!
And another thing – they have cuppa soups, but no-one in their right mind would actually DRINK them, they’re putrid! Don’t even get me started on the feminine hygiene products…
Great, I’m turning into a whinging pom.
