Hi again everyone, I’m coming up to an exciting yet sad part of the year. Exciting because, obviously it’s Christmas time, and the air is getting cold and the scent mulled wine is flowing easily through the misty air of London, little children are sitting on Santa’s lap in Debenham’s and asking for things that will make them happy for a day or two, and lights are twinkling like sprays of stars from the old fashioned lamp-posts in the city streets. It’s all very exciting!
This type of Christmas cheer is a new experience for me, as nearly everything for me is in England so far. Usually by now I’d be shielding myself from the heat of the day and sloshing on the sun-screen, and I’d probably be driving all over the countryside now visiting friends from school after having decorated the gum-tree in the lounge room, but this year all I want from my friends is a text message and for them to have a drink in my name.
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and I’ll try and ring some people on Christmas Eve (which will be Christmas Day at home) just to say hi and to wish everyone a great day and a happy New Year.
Merry Christmas everyone!
