Hobart is the only place in Tasmania…according to Hobartians. June 13, 2006

Filed under: Ramblings,The Social Scene — Annaleis @ 10:15 pm

Hey! I'm in Hobart! Also known as Hoe-bart, Whorebart and Hobbiton.

It's pretty cold here; the snowy peaks of Wrest Point Hotel Casino gave it away, but there is one vital difference between here and Brendan's place in Lonny.

Alastair has a heater that he's willing to turn on.

Here are the things I intend to buy whilst Hobarting:

  • New pyjamas
  • Eskimo Joe's new CD
  • a Belle and Sebastian CD
  • Long groovy cool awesome socks (because I can't knit them…yet)
  • Thermals…because it's bloody cold in England. Perhaps I'm being a bit eager here.

More news later!

Oh, and photos. Brace yourselves.

    Hey there,
I found your site from mugga..
I too am a teacher in Tassie and just finished a term 1 contract at ouse District high school. Dooley (my partner) and I are just about to embark on another adventure, this time at bruny Island for term 3 where I will have a 4/5/6 class all to myself. My time at ouse was 3 days a weeks, acting as a support teacher.. shite job.
I also have taught overseas, last year in Japan. I blogged about it, so if you want some idea of what it was like for me, and you must remember that I went with the biggest English conversational company there was, I wasn’t in the public school system.. Therefore my perspective was a tad jadded at times..
    Hope to hear from you
    Josie
